UGA has signed a formal international cooperative agreement with Chang-Gung University of Science and Technology (CGUST), which has played a central role in helping to host the College of Public Health’s Taiwan Study Abroad program.

Dr. Su-I Hou, associate professor of Health Promotion and Behavior and the Director of CPH’s Taiwan Study Abroad program, helped facilitate the agreement process.  Dr. Hou was recently invited by CGUST, with funding support from Taiwan’s Ministry of Education, as a visiting scholar to give a couple of workshops on “keys to positive writing” and “writing for publication” to CGUST faculty and graduate students at their main and satellite campuses.  In addition, Dr. Hou also explored potential exchange opportunities, and gave several seminar topics, including UGA’s Taiwan Study Abroad program; certificates and licensures of health professionals in the U.S., such as CPH, CHES/MCHES, and RN; and health challenges in America and roles of public health professionals.

Dr. Hou represented UGA at the official UGA-CGUST agreement signing ceremony at CGUST’s main campus in Taoyuan, Taiwan this Oct. 2012.  Below are photos from the ceremony.
