About Health Policy & Management
The mission of the department of Health Policy and Management (HPAM) is to introduce students to the main components and issues surrounding the organization, financing, and delivery of public health systems and services.
Students who choose HPAM as their area of emphasis will gain a broader understanding of the policy process for imporving the health status of populations. Students will develop skills in financial management, program planning and development, and policy analysis and evaluation. These skills will give students the necessary expertise to obtain leadership roles and effectively improve the delivery of health care from a population perspective.

An MPH degree with emphasis in Health Policy and Management opens a vast number of doors in both the public and private sectors working as healthcare consultants, managers, administrators, policy analysts, and researchers. Our alumni have gone on to successful careers at the CDC, EPA, and smaller community level healthcare organizations. Additionally, students who wish to work in the academic arena can pursue their PhD.
