Congratulations to Dr. Anne Marie Zimeri for receiving one of the Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advisor Awards!

The Selection Committee of the 2011-2012 Outstanding Undergraduate Academic Advisor Award met earlier this month and selected Dr. Anne Marie Zimeri from Public Health as the tenured/tenure-track winner and Ms. Misha Boyd from Ecology as the non-tenured-track winner. Both nominees exhibit a passion for students, a commitment to improving the quality of advising at UGA, and engage in innovative and effective advising practices. Dr. Zimeri and Ms. Boyd will be honored at Honors Day and the Faculty Recognition Banquet and will be nominated for the NACADA Outstanding Advising Award.

The Selection Committee was blown away by the high quality of all of the nominee’s dossiers and student letters and how each demonstrated their ability to go above and beyond their job description to assist students. Whether by enthusiastically advising hundreds of students, demonstrating a dedication to professional development initiatives, or matching students with fitting opportunities on campus, all of the nominees take the extra step to help students reach their goals and make the most of their time at UGA.
