Area of Specialty

Lynn Perkins is the Emergency Operations Manager for the Institute of Health Management and Mass Destruction Defense (IHMD), College of Public Health (CPH). She is responsible for managing the development, implementation and execution of statewide disaster preparedness exercises conducted by IHMD based on the Homeland Security Exercise Evaluation Program (HSEEP) methodology. As Drills and Exercises Coordinator for the Georgia Hospital Association, Lynn identified and provided Georgia hospitals with recommendations and information on drills and exercises with the goal of enhancing the capacity of the health care system to recognize and respond effectively to all-hazards emergencies and disasters. She coordinated training and exercise development needs for emergency preparedness and response as the Emergency Preparedness Training Coordinator at North Central Health District 5-2, in Macon, GA for the Georgia Division of Public Health. She has thirty years of public health experience and a Career Masters degree in public health from Emory University.
