In her own words...
I was incredibly lucky to be able to intern at the CDC in the Division of Global Migration and Quarantine this semester. My supervisor, Terry Comans, as well as all of the other branch members made me feel like a member of the team from the moment I began work in January. The experience was the chance of a lifetime, and I learned so many great skills that will carry on not only to graduate school, but to my professional life as a public health worker as well. I was able to work on projects that I would not have had the opportunity to at any other public health site, such as a response to a Varicella outbreak in an orphanage in China, tuberculosis database work, and narratives about Bhutanese refugees and refugee camps in Africa and Asia. Interning at the CDC was such a wonderful experience and I am extremely thankful for everyone who helped me make the most of this opportunity.
