The Department of Health Promotion and Behavior, through its teaching, research, and service initiatives, generates knowledge about the social and behavioral determinants of health and applies that knowledge to the design, delivery and evaluation of disease prevention and health promotion programs.

The University of Georgia College of Public Health’s Dr. Karen Hilyard, was recently selected as one of 12 early career scholars to be named a fellow in an innovative new program, “To Think, To Write, To Publish,” funded by the National Science Foundation and organized by the Consortium for Science, Policy, and Outcomes at Arizona State University.
