Welcome to the Department of Health Promotion & Behavior in the College of Public Health at the University of Georgia. On behalf of the HPB faculty and staff, we welcome your inquiries about our academic programs, research projects, and outreach activities. We have a dynamic team poised to help you reach your career aspirations and grow as a person. We are committed to providing you the education and training required to reach your goals and have an impact on the world around you.

HPB is known for its interdisciplinary programs and caring, concerned faculty. We offer degrees at the Baccalaureate, Masters, and Doctoral level, all of which are designed to provide hands on experience as well as the conceptual understanding of what works and why. We have provided field experiences in community-based organizations, clinical settings, businesses, state health departments and federal health agencies and have graduates in all of these settings.

HPB faculty research activities cover the public health spectrum from HIV/AIDS to violence and are coordinated through four research groups examining issues related to workplace health and safety, youth violence prevention, traffic safety, and public health evaluation. Check out our research groups’ web pages to see what current projects they are working on and our faculty web pages to see what research they are conducting.

We strive to make your experience in public health a rewarding and challenging one. Check out our website and feel free to contact faculty and staff with questions.
