Greetings! On behalf of the faculty, staff and students, I welcome you to the Department of Health Promotion & Behavior at the University of Georgia. Our department has been part of the College of Public Health since 2005, but has a very long history at UGA, dating back to the early 1900s. The mission of the department is to generate knowledge about the social and behavioral determinants of health and apply that knowledge to the design, delivery, and evaluation of disease prevention and health promotion programs.
A hallmark of our department is maintaining a culture of respect for individuals and communities, excellence in teaching, engaged scientific inquiry, and cross-discipline collegiality. We offer a Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion, a Master of Public Health with concentration in Health Promotion, and a PhD in Health Promotion. Our faculty will strive to make your experience in public health rewarding and challenging.
