University of Georgia senior outfielder Kellie Middleton, a Master
of Public Health candidate in Health Policy, has been named to the
Southeastern Conference Good Works Softball Team, the league announced
Tuesday. The SEC Good Works team looks to highlight an athlete from
each school who gives back to her community in superior service
efforts.
A native of Norcross, Ga.,
Middleton has helped serve her community in several ways. A mentor to
local children, Middleton participates in reading programs at local
elementary schools. She also volunteers at Camp Sunshine for children
with cancer and at the Athens Regional Medical Center. Additionally,
Middleton helped organized and participated in a canned food drive and
volunteered at Shamrock Gardens Assisted Living Home. She also
volunteers with the Northeast Health District in the CHASE Program that
focuses on hypertension and cardiovascular disease.
