Global Health Policy* (generally taught every Spring semester) was cancelled due to the lack of global health-teaching faculty in the HPAM department. Monica Gaughan was teaching it at a time but has since left the CPH faculty and there hasn't been a replacement named. However, we are in the midst of recruiting a possible replacement and as we begin our negotiations, we would like to know the kind of student interest there is out there for this class.

A little about the class - we have named a very bright and knowledgeable UGA alum who is currently the Director of the Masters in Public Health Program at the Universidad San Francisco de Quito in Ecuador. She will be teaching the course in-person for a few weeks and then the rest of course she will teach via live video. (The Center for Global Health offered a similar course like this in Summer 2012 in which students learned about Global Health Systems via video (teaching was done in Israel) and Athens-based students generally liked this form of learning).

So, if you would be interested in this course, simply reply to ammathew@uga.edu<mailto:ammathew@uga.edu> with a "yes" If you have any specific questions, please do not hesitate to contact her. Again, we are just needing some feedback from our students before we start planning the details of the course.

*Please note that Global Health Policy is one of the key foundational courses for the Global Health Certificate and is considered as one of the "selectives".
