HPAM in Action: Washington Co. Georgia
On October 10, members of the Health Policy and Management Department attended the annual Kaolin Festival in
Sandersville, Georgia. The Archway Public Health Professional Laura
Bland arranged for a booth at the fair, which was held on
the courthouse square. Our objective was twofold: to inform community
members about an upcoming Medicare information event, and to begin
conducting a needs assessment of older adults in Washington County and
surrounding communities. The Department is well-positioned to help
Georgia's citizens to understand the complex array of health insurance
mechanisms that may be available to them through the federal, state, or
private sources.
