Health Policy and Management faculty are talented beyond their teaching abilities. Our research interests are varied and include foci in the areas of aging, economic evaluation, emergency preparedness, child and adolescent health, and public health and scientific workforce diversity. Health disparities are a universal thread in all of these research areas, and our Department is passionate about making progress towards reducing existing inequalities in the public’s health.
One of the unique features about our Department is its multi-dimensional aspect. HPAM faculty administer two institutes, the Institute of Gerontology and the Institute for Health Management in Mass Destruction and Defense, in addition to the University of Georgia’s new Center for Global Health. HPAM faculty members also work closely with the School of Public and International Affairs, the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, and the Institute for Behavioral Research. The collaborative efforts shared by Health Policy and Management and these organizations give faculty members and students a competitive edge in public health, government, health administration, industry, and academia.
