Libby V. Morris is professor and director in the Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia. She holds a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill. Her teaching and research interests include evaluation and assessment, faculty development, health professions education and online education. In recognition of her work, she has received awards for excellence in teaching and in public service. Most recently, she was invited into membership of the University of Georgia’s Teaching Academy.
Dr. Morris’ earliest work at the Institute of Higher Education pertained to the determination of supply and demand for health professionals in the rural South, which contributed to a rethinking of the allocation of educational resources for over twenty allied health professions. Recently (in 2002 and also 2006), she has been involved in studies examining the supply and demand of health professionals across Georgia. In addition, she is regularly called upon to serve as an evaluator for grants made from major national funding agencies and on national panels to review funding applications particularly in areas pertaining to medical careers, health education, and biomedical research careers. She is the editor of Innovative Higher Education, a peer-reviewed, international journal focusing on innovations in postsecondary education.
