In special circumstances, students have the opportunity to take a graduate level gerontology course at another institution in a traditional classroom or through distance learning technologies. Students may transfer one graduate course into their Certificate program, if appropriate. Students must seek advance written approval from the Institute of Gerontology before enrolling in a course at another college or university which is to be applied towards the Certificate Program.

Arrangements have been made with the Gerontology Center at Lund University, Lund, Sweden, that would facilitate the opportunity to study gerontology abroad. If you are interested in taking advantage of this opportunity, please contact Dr. Leonard W. Poon, Director of the UGA Institute of Gerontology.
