The university’s main campus in Athens, Georgia, covers 605 acres and includes 313 buildings. To its north, the campus adjoins historic downtown Athens, which features many boutiques, restaurants, entertainment, and service businesses. The university covers 4,308 acres in Clarke County and owns a total of 43,261 acres throughout the state.

Be a Santa To a Senior Program - Thanks to All

The gerontology students and faculty at The University of Georgia participated in a community service program, “Be a Santa to a Senior,” organized by Home Instead Senior Care. Our group provided gifts for over 700 elders who might not have otherwise received any. Thanks to all those that donated items.

This year was our third year to participate in this collection of gifts for elders in need. Our students also participated in a gift wrapping party which was held at the Athens Community Council on Aging on Dec. 12.
