C.A.R.E. for Older Adults Conferences
We invite you to join us for our C.A.R.E. for Older Adults Conferences: "Addressing Health Disparities through Health Literacy." These 3 conferences will take place on May 4-5, 2009 in Macon, Georgia; June 11-12, 2009 in Savannah, Georgia; and June 25-26, 2009 in Atlanta, Georgia.
This two-day conference will define health literacy, discuss proper consideration of older adults, identify ways to improve communication between the healthcare provider and the older adult, and develop healthcare materials. You may register for the conference online at the GGEC website.
The Conference is sponsored by the Georgia Geriatric Education Center (GGEC), Armstrong Atlantic State University's College of Health Professions, Mercer University's School of Medicine, and Savannah State University's Department of Social Work.
The Georiga Geriatric Education Center (GGEC) is a statewide effort designed to help you access the latest resources and training about best practices in gerontology and geriatrics by providing continuing education for Georgia's health care community. (CEUs and/or CMEs are available for online and on-site courses, conferences, and workshops.) The Center also provides special opportunities for health care professionals practicing in under-served areas of Georgia and for the training of minority faculty and health care professionals throughout the state.
