The Georgia Centenarian Study (1988-2006) is a study of longevity and survival of the oldest old. An unprecedented number of elders in the coming decades will face the risks of disease, frailty, and dependence. The population at highest risk is the oldest of the old who are increasing at the fastest rate among those who are 65 years and older.

20th Anniversary Celebration of the Georgia Centenarian Study
On August 12-15, 2008, the Georgia Centenarian Study celebrated it's 20th anniversary in Atlanta. A historical event took place in that ten different centenarian research teams were gathered to share information, including presentations from the Ashkenazi Jewish, Chines, Danish, French, Georgia, Korean, New England, Okinawa, and Tokyo centenarian studies. In addition, a presentation was given by the NIA-funded Longevity Consortium. We invite you to share in our pictures from the conference.
