The University of Georgia Institute of Gerontology has adopted the Bristlecone pine tree as a symbol of its education, research, and outreach missions. The Bristlecone pine is a rare and unique tree, known for its hardiness and extreme longevity. It has an exceptionally slow growth rate and can survive in both high altitudes and the harshest environments.

"Improving Pallative and End-of-Life Care for Frail Older Adults" Conference
May 16-17, 2008
The University of Georgia
Athens, Georgia

The objectives of the conference will include learning more about innovations in hospice care, why and how to start a palliative care consult in your hospital, and why and how to improve end-of-life care in your nursing home.
