Institute director, Dr. Toni Miles, will be the opening speaker at the 14th Annual Healthy Communities Summit on "Exploring Creative Approaches To Healthy Living" at the University of Georgia's Georgia Center in Athens on June 6, 2012. The event is hosted by the Georgia Department of Human Services, Division of Aging Services.

Other speakers at the event will include Amy Krauss and Trae Cown, who be speaking about Nutrition and Cardiovascular Disease. Dr. Jung Sun Lee and Lauren Badger will be presenting a workshop about older adults, food insecurity and the Athens Cafe (a program to increase food stamp use in older adults).
