A. From the North:
From U.S. 441, Commerce
From Commerce, take U.S. 441 South for approximately 20 miles. Travel under the Athens Perimeter (Loop 10). Take a right onto College Avenue. College Avenue intersects with Hancock Avenue. Prior to this intersection, you will see the Institute on the left and the parking lot behind it.
From U.S. 129, Jefferson
Take U.S. 129 South into Athens. Stay on this road, now called Prince Avenue, until College Avenue. Take a right onto College avenue. College Avenue intersects with Hancock Avenue. Prior to this intersection, you will see the Institute on the left and the parking lot behind it.
From GA 106
Proceed south on Highway 106. Highway 106 becomes North Avenue. Continue on North Avenue to Dougherty Drive. This intersects with College Avenue. Take a left onto college avenue the Institute will be on your left with parking behind it.
From U.S. 29, Danielsville
In Athens, U.S. 29 becomes part of the Athens Perimeter (GA Loop 10). Continue on U.S. 29 to the Lexington Road/Ben Epps Airport Exit. Exit and turn left onto Lexington Road/US78/Oak Street. Follow this road to Broad Street. Take a right when you reach College Avenue. Right after crossing Hancock Avenue, take a right into the Institute's parking lot.
B: From the South:
Travel North on U.S. 129/441 or Highway 15 into Watkinsville. In Watkinsville, Highway 15 and U.S. 129 join. Go North into Athens. At the intersection of Milledge Avenue and Highway 15/U.S. 129/441 turn left onto Milledge Avenue. Take a right onto East Campus Road (the first stoplight on Milledge). Continue up East Campus to Broad Street. Take a left onto Broad Street. Then, take a right when you reach College Avenue. Right after crossing Hancock Avenue, take a right into the Institute's parking lot.
C. From the East:
Take U.S. 78 North into Athens. In Athens, U.S. 78 merges into Broad Street with the Campus on the left. Stay on Broad, and then take a right when you reach College Avenue. Right after crossing Hancock Avenue, take a right into the Institute's parking lot.
D: From the West:
From U.S. 78
Approaching Athens eastbound on U.S. 78, 78 joins the Atlanta Highway in the Westside business district. You will see the Mall and lots of shopping there. This road will take you directly to the Institute after about 6-7 miles. It changes names to Broad Street. The campus will be on your right just past a Holiday Inn (which is shortly after the Holiday Inn Express, and that confuses people). Stay on Broad, and then take a left when you reach Lumpkin Street. Follow Lumpkin and take a right onto Hancock Avenue at the light. Then you will take a left onto College Avenue at the light and park in the lot immediately to the right behind the Institute.
From GA 316
Stay on GA 316 until it joins the Atlanta Highway after crossing the bypass. Keep right until the road merges into Broad Street. Drive apporoximately 2 miles into downtown Athens. The campus will be on your right just past a Holiday Inn (which is shortly after the Holiday Inn Express, and that confuses people). Stay on Broad, and then take a left when you reach Lumpkin Street. Follow Lumpkin and take a right onto Hancock Avenue at the light. Then you will take a left onto College Avenue at the light and park in the lot immediately to the right behind the Institute.
From Nearby Major Interstates
Traveling south from the Carolinas on Interstate 85, exit at U.S. 441 South through Commerce, Georgia, then follow directions A.
Traveling north from Atlanta on Interstate 85, exit onto GA 316 (University Parkway) and follow directions D.
Traveling west from Augusta on Interstate 20, exit onto U.S. 78 West and follow directions C.
Arriving by Air
The University of Georgia is served by two airports. The Athens-Ben Epps Airport offers connecting flights to and from Charlotte, North Carolina. The Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport is located one-and-a-half hours from Athens. Consult your travel agent for the best travel options.
From Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport
Upon leaving the airport, follow the road signs onto Interstate 85 North. Remain on I-85 North for approximately 25 miles, and exit onto GA 316. At this point, follow directions D.
From Athens-Ben Epps Airport

Stay on Broad, and then take a right when you reach College Avenue. Right after crossing Hancock Avenue, take a right into the Institute's parking lot.
Ground Transportation
There is scheduled ground shuttle service between Hartsfield Atlanta International Airport and the University of Georgia's Georgia Institute for Continuing Education. Local taxi service is available for transportation to and from Athens-Ben Epps Airport. The Orbit or Milledge Avenue busses stop at the Georgia Institute and approach downtown where the Institute is located for convenient transport http://www.busfin.uga.edu/transit/route.html. For Routes and schedules, click here. The Closest stop for the Orbit bus is Human Resources, and for the Milledge Avenue bus is the Arch.
Rental car service is also available at both airports.
