The Institute of Gerontology is housed in the Slaughter Building. The building is located at the corner of Hancock and College Avenues in downtown Athens. The Institute of Gerontology building comprises approximately 7,800 square feet and is divided into a first floor and basement level layout.

The first floor consists of offices, supply and copy rooms, as well as a 662 square foot classroom and conference room. The classroom and conference room also contain our paper and digital reference library, as well as a state of the art computer and DVD/VHS projection system. The sound system in the conference room includes an integrated mixer, power amplifier and a JBL control speaker system. The basement level consists of the Older Adult Physical Performance Laboratory, offices, storage space, image library, and a 553 square foot computer support area.
