Dr. Joel Lee holds the endowed position as University Professor of Health Services Management in the University of Kentucky College of Public Health. He completed his Master of Public Health and Doctor of Public Health degrees in Health Services Administration and Organization at the University of Texas School of Public Health. He has served in a variety of academic positions in the formation of the University of Kentucky College of Public Health, most recently as Associate Dean for Academic Affairs, and Chair of the Department of Health Services Management, and Director of Doctoral Studies as well as director positions in the university's undergraduate and graduate degrees in health administration. Lee has served on a number of association boards and advisory committees including the Board of Directors of the Association of University Programs in Health Administration (AUPHA), the Kentucky Hospital Association-affiliated Kentucky Health Care Strategy Forum, and the University Centers of San Miguel. He has served on a variety of American College of Health Care Executives committees and has been reappointed to the Kentucky ACHE Regent's Advisory Board for over 16 years. He is also secretary/treasurer of the Beta Gamma Chapter of the Delta Omega Honorary Society in Public Health. In 2006, he was appointed by the Provost as the Academic Ombud for the University of Kentucky.
